The Problem and The Solution
You are not alone.
With so many big problems to tackle in the world today, there are countless reasons not to take action.
You might be thinking…
- I don’t have the skills to help solve big problems.
- I’m not sure where to direct my money and attention to make the biggest impact.
- Any donation I make would be too small to make a difference.
We get it. We thought so too. In fact, these are among the most common reasons millions of American’s like you don’t give to a charity.
According to the World Giving Index in 2016, about 4 in 10 Americans do not give to charity. On a list of global generosity, Americans don’t even make the top ten list, ranking 13th in the world for percentage of citizens who give to charity.
We can do better.
The Uprising exists to make you a better citizen. A better philanthropist. A better activist. A better human.
The Uprising is a community of givers who develop the confidence and experience to explore complex social problems, evaluate solutions, and take meaningful action. You never have to go it alone.
We give you the structure and community you need to dig deeper than you could on your own and make a BIG impact where it means the most to you.
When you join The Uprising’s Superhero Society, you will:
Make a Greater Impact:
Your monthly donation gets pooled with other Superheroes amplifying your personal giving power. 100% of your donation goes to help the most impactful organizations in our city.
Increase Your Personal Power:
You learn from experts working to solve our city’s most complex problems and beneit from their on-the-ground understanding of our biggest challenges and how we can solve them.
Belong to a Driven Community:
You work with fellow Superhero Society donors to give your time, energy, and money to address the biggest issues our city faces.
Meet Superheroes Just Like You
Still Not Sure?
Maybe you’re thinking, “Why should I join The Uprising instead of giving directly to an organization?”
Great question! The Uprising Board and Mark Fisher Fitness pays The Uprising’s administrative and fundraising expenses so 100% of your donation goes directly to supporting the causes that matter most to you. Pooling your funds with the Superhero Society has four major benefits:
Collective giving (one donation of $20,000 instead of one thousand donations of $20) is more easily leveraged by organizations, so we get more impact per dollar.
Participating in The Uprising process – attending discussions, panels, salons, and events – will help you develop fluency exploring complex problems, evaluating solutions, and taking meaningful action. You will become an informed citizen who is not just talking about issues. You’ll be doing something about them.
You have the support of a like-hearted community to support your journey of engaging thorny topics, challenging your assumptions, and taking action to be the superhero you want to be. You are not alone.
When you give a $20 donation directly to an organization, you have no way of knowing the impact of your gift. When you give through The Uprising, we will ensure transparency and accountability for your donation so you know exactly how your money is benefiting the organization you choose to support.
Still, Still Not Sure?
Maybe you want to give this a try, but don’t want to commit for the long-haul.
We totally get it! If you join the Superhero Society and it doesn’t meet your expectations, you can cancel your monthly donation at any time. There is no risk to joining, so dive in and give it a try!
The best case scenario is that you increase your personal giving power, make a greater impact, and belong to a driven community. Worst case scenario, you gave a $20 tax-deductible donation to a group of awesome humans trying their best to make your city a better place.
I mean, it’s a no-brainer.
